Aylesbury Concert Band is a vibrant and enthusiastic community wind band. We celebrated our 30th anniversary in 2024 when we also took part in a joint concert at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre with The Band of The Household Cavalry. We are now looking for a new Musical Director to drive us forward and build on our excellent reputation.
You will be an ambitious and experienced musical director who understands the dynamics of working with a community band. The band has a good solid membership base with all sections represented. We are enthusiastic, hard-working and keen to take on new challenges.
Rehearsals are held weekly on a Wednesday evening in Aylesbury, and as an active band, we perform throughout the year in a variety of venues for anything from concerts to civic services to fetes.
Over the years we have established strong links with the Aylesbury Town Council and Mayor. We headline the annual large outdoor proms concert at Aylesbury Vale Park (the next is on 30 August 26) which regularly sees audiences of over 3000. We would expect our new musical director to lead us through this exciting annual event. We also support the Mayor of Aylesbury at their annual Remembrance and Carol Services.
Expenses are paid for rehearsals and gigs; please note this is purely a voluntary position with no salary or retainer attached.
